This Safari is a 4×4 self-drive safari. A Botswana local guide, with eleven years of experience, will be your companion in a Toyota Land Cruiser. This is a five day / four night’s camping safari which will give you the opportunity of driving a fully equipped 4×4 in the African bush and experiencing this special part of Botswana.
DAY 1 THIRD BRIDGE
After breakfast, you will be met at your accommodation in Maun. Leave Maun and travel approximately 140km to Third Bridge Camp in Moremi, where you will camp for the night. On the way pass through the small towns of Shorobe, Buffalo Gate, South Gate (where you will enter Moremi Game Reserve) and a place called Second Bridge.
The first few kilometres will be on tar road, there-after you will travel on sand tracks and dirt roads. The Moremi Game Reserve and the Chobe National Park is a wilderness area of great beauty with sand tracks between Mopani and Acacia forest areas. Moremi Game Reserve is partly situated in the Okavango Delta. This reserve has a high concentration of birdlife and a multitude of antelope.
DAY 2 KHWAI DEVELOPMENT TRUST
After breakfast, depart from Third Bridge Camp doing game viewing all the way to the North Gate. Late afternoon leave the reserve here at North Gate and travel to the camping area of Khwai Development Trust.
Here you will overnight. A night drive is available in a private concession area and is highly recommended.
DAY 3 SAVUTI
Departing from Khwai Development Trust, travel on the northern bank of the Khwai River (where you can enjoy exceptional wildlife sightings) to Mababe Depression, where you will enter Chobe National Park. Except for the wildlife that is normally on way to Savuti Camp, you will visit a huge Baobab tree.
In the late afternoon, wait at the waterhole outside our camp, to view the wildlife and the spectacular sunset. Overnight at Savuti Campsite.
DAY 4 IHAHA
Leaving early from Savuti Camp, be on your way to Ihaha Campsite on the bank of the Chobe River, which also forms the border between Namibia and Botswana. On route pass through the small town of Kachikau and Ngoma Veterinary Gate, to arrive at Buffalo Ridge.
Here you will have lunch, and the afternoon we will spent travelling along the Chobe River to see the multitude of wildlife that comes there to drink. Overnight in the campsite at Ihaha.
DAY 5 KASANE
After breakfast, leave Ihaha camp and travel slowly, doing wildlife viewing, along the Chobe River on way to the Sedudu Gate, where you will leave this special wildlife park and travel to Kasane which is about a 10km drive.
This safari ends in Kasane.
